SPIRIT LAKE CASINO & RESORT ANNOUNCES EXPANSION

Spirit Lake Casino is about to embark on a 22,700 square foot addition and renovation. “Ground breaking will take place June 15, 2009 for a $3 million project that will take approximately 7 months to complete,” according to Spirit Lake Casino General Manager, Paul Matheny.

The addition will include approximately 15,000 square feet of new construction and 7,700 square feet of remodeled area in the existing facility. The addition includes two new ballrooms that will seat approximately 200 people each. They are designed to be flexible to accommodate weddings, conferences and special events. In case of a larger event, a movable partition can be opened to join the two into one large ballroom. The ballrooms are appointed with finishes and colors that compliment the
recently updated Auditorium and Dakotah Buffet. Richly hued carpets, wood accents and paneling as well
as luxurious lighting are scheduled for installation.

The Soaring Eagle Gift Shop will relocate to the new addition, along with an updated hotel lobby, front desk
and salon. The salon will offer hair styling, nails, tanning and salon style products.

A second floor conference room will be located just above the new hotel front desk and will offer a business
class atmosphere when it comes to quality of equipment available and interior finishes. Two plasma TV’s will
be set at the head of the conference room table for presentations as well as a drop down projector screen.
The new conference room is well appointed, with wood wainscoting, wood ceilings and rich interior stains and carpets.

The Casino has been working with it’s project team, DSGW Architects of Duluth, MN and Construction Engineers
out of Grand Forks, ND, to ensure that during construction, guests will experience little or no disruption when
visiting the Spirit Lake Casino & Resort. The Spirit Lake Casino & Resort is owned and operated by the Spirit Lake Nation.
